Misery's Visage

Smothered by soreness
Mothered by pain,
The sting of numbness gains,
Tears plunge so steep,
This sorrow I can't tame,
Todays chaos has tainted hearts,
Tortured souls and brought life to its knees.
Life like death has a face
This is it...

Today our solidarity,
Our fate and fortitude
Tasted the bitter tang
Of man's iniquity,
For once were lost like sheep,
Our light glows without admiration,
Forces known to steal our cause,
Have come to paint the sky dark,
Today the brute in man was seen.

Despite this odium,
Our cause will gain strength,
Our unity will hold with truth,
They that will cry will be calmed,
In us a victor is born,
We will reflect and not forget
The gloomy duo acts
Of he who calls himself right.
Will forever burn in us.

Revulsion will not glue
Our broken hearts,
For once man holds no answer,
Time will see us through
This dark age of silence.

Reflections

Ocean waves groove to the beats
And tones of an unspoken breeze,
Like whispers it all fades to silence,
Life drifts silently with a heart untouched
I wonder how it ever came to this
When sweetness became too sweet
And when life gave me its best,
I closed my eyes and lost it all.

Dazing in whirling reflections
Of the inner ache
That gains life when I have no mind to kiss,
No moon to hold and no heart to keep,
I wonder how it came to this
Beat down like unwilling drums
A heart beat has never been this numb
Crushed in the essence of its core
My mind has never been this lost
Still I wonder how it came to this.
